I need some help with a game save for Resident Evil: the Umbrella Chronicles. I attempted 2 different saves (one was data.bin, the other a Zip file.) I followed the FAQ on how to create the right folders, but my Wii will not recognize the save, it just comes up blank spaces. What am I doing wrong?

If you're confused on how to create the folder structure, just have your Wii do it for you.

Stick your SD card in the Wii and copy one of your current saves from the Wii to your SD card.

Take your SD card out of the wii and put it in your PC. You'll notice that your Wii has created the folder structure for you and placed the data.bin in the correct location. Just take the data.bin from WiiSave and replace it with that one. Bam, should work.

It's not taking a data.bin from a wii save, it's taking a data.bin from WiiSave.com (this site), as in downloading a game save off of WiiSave.com. I'm not sure how to be more precise, have you tried looking at the walk through video on the FAQ page? Because it's very difficult to explain how to use game saves when you're unsure of how to move files around.

"that walk through video skips a lot he says to do this and do that but doesn't show how to"

he dose show you how and the reason it skips is that you have a slow connection to the net

"and neither do you for that matter"
you wont get help if your not polite lol

    "i have a file that i named resident "
wrong folder name it should be RBUE or what ever region you are from

"but there is nothing that says extract when i right click on it. i also have a thing that says data bin file with 109 kb that doesn't have anything that says extract either."
data.bin is the save of the game it did not get zipped to a file so its the raw data of the game

ill try to help some. because I'm vary Bord just beat all my games and nothing to do now
. this is going to be long ill try to go step by step.

here's how to do it form it being zipped to it not being zipped
I'm going to use the RBUE for a example this save is the U.S save if you are in a different region go down to the bottom of this post to find yours.RBUE is the code for Resident Evil: the Umbrella Chronicles save if you want to use a different save just replace the game code with the corresponding game code. you can get it here http://www.wiisave.com/gamecodes/index.php or just go to the top of the page
and click the game codes button

1: if it dose not have the .zip at the end of the file name it is not zipped (Example not zipped data.bin and if it is zipped it will look like this RBUE.zip) if it says data.bin than its the save of the game no folder structure. you will have to make it

A: if it is a zip file. extract it to a folder of your choosing or on the desktop
the file you unzipped should look like this. some times it will be a folder named WII
it all depends on how the person zipped it
    1st folder named (private)
2nd folder inside of the private folder named (WII)
3rd folder inside of the WII folder named (title)
4th folder inside of title. folder named code of the game for ex (RBUE)
5th now open the folder named RBUE
6th inside of RBUE is the data.bin file the saved game

B: if it is just the data.bin file and you have not saved any games to the sd card
from your wii you will have to make the folder structure
just make new folders in side of each other and name them all in the corresponding
    way in figure A:
    1: private
    2: WII
    3: title
4: code of the game save ( example RBUE )
5: now put the data.bin file inside of that

C: you more than likely have the folder structure already if you saved a game from the
    wii to the SD card
1: open all the folder's starting from private to title they are all inside of the private
    folder
2: now make a folder inside of the title folder
3: name the new folder. it will be the game code in cap lock's
4: the code of the Resident Evil: the Umbrella Chronicles save is ( RBUE )
5: so name the folder RBUE
6: now place the data.bin file inside of the RBUE folder
7: now put the SD card inside of the wii and play the save

2: make sure you have the save from your Region. how to tell is if the end of the save is
a: for Example RBUE the E at the end of it is U.S & Canada
b: P is - European / Other / PAL so it will look like this RBUP
c: J is - Japanese so it will look like this RBUJ

    hope this helps

i have a super fast road runner connection.so that isnt the problem why the video skips alot.he just skips on how to do the folders.on the video he doesnt even show you putting in the code in a folder or where ever it goes.

yes rename is how you rename the folder
this all goes on the SD card
you make the folder structure in the SD card

/PRIVATE/WII/TITLE/GAME/BIN that is the folder structure. a folder structure is folders inside of folders inside of folders
like the private folder is the name of first folder you made. now open it and make a new folder name it title. now open that and make a new folder with the game code like RBUE not game.
GAME is where you put the game code in now .BIN is the data.bin file its the saved game
just put that in the RBUE folder and your set
here's how it looks all together ( private/WII/title/RBUE/data.bin ) each dash is a separate folder inside of that. the data.din is not a folder but what the wii see as a saved game

you can try and do what Kronok side have the wii make the folder structure for you
take a save of a game and place it on your sd card. now you have the folder srtucter
all you have to do is put the sd card in your computer and open all the folder to title open title folder and make a new folder . name it RBUE that folder is where you put the data.bin file in
