I am in Autralia. I follow the guides, and create folders, like private\wii\title\RCC\data.bin. But when i went into wii---wii option-data management, then chose sd tab. But I cannot see anything in the SD card. I cannot see the file in SD card. Is there anyone who can help me about that??
private\wii\title\RCC\data.bin
This is your problem. You only put the first 3 letters of the game code, but a FULL game code is made up of 4 letters. The 4th letter is the region identifier. In your case, this should be "P".
So try renaming the RCC folder to RCCP and try again.
Hi, I tried that. But there was still nothing in the SD card in wii. But I can have a look at the photos from the SD card in Wii. So, I think it would be something wrong with my Wii. I just brought the Wii from Australian market. It is orignal one in the market. I didn't change anything in the wii. Is there any suggesstion for me? Thanks a lot!
carol8828, did you try copying a save file that's already on your Wii over to the SD card to see if it allows that?
If you haven't, I'd try that, first. If there really is something not allowing the Wii to read save files from the SD card, it probably won't allow you to copy over.
If it DOES work, I doubt there's anything wrong with the Wii or the card. Leave the save file on there and try copying the RCCP (make sure it's 4 letters, not three, and all CAPS) into the 'title' folder that the Wii created for the save file you copied on there. Then try it, again.
Good luck!
Hello,Duchess. The problem is i cannot see anything in sd card when I via data management in wii. But if i used the photo channel in wii, I can see the picture in wii. I think it would be something wrong with the wii which does not allow to copy the data from SD card. But thanks for all help!
When you say you can't see anything on the card, does the Wii tell you that it can't read the card, or do you see the blocks, but they're all empty?
Did you try copying a Wiisave file from the Wii memory over to the SD card? If so, what happened? If not, go ahead and try that and see what happens.
i copied a game and saved it to my sd card in the wii.and then i put it on my computer it shows its there.but when i try and copy a game from here it doesnt show up on the wii.private\wii\title\RCCE\data.bin where do you type this in ?do you right click and then click on rename in the title folder?i tried that it wont let you do it.
I am having the same problem.
I live in Australia too. I am 100% sure that the folder structure is right and the game code. When i copy the data.bin file in my Resident Evil 4 folder (that is the game i am trying) it shows that the file is in there.
When i insert it into the Wii and go to data management and go to the SD tab all it comes up with is empty boxes.
I have checked everything and made sure the region is correct (P). Then i also tried all of the other regions but none of them worked.
Any help will be good.
Thanks
I know you said you're sure your folder structure is correct...but what is it? Sdcard:/???/???/...
For Resident Evil 4 my structure is:
private\wii\title\RB4P\data.bin
data.bin being the save file
also kronok i did watch the video that you gave a URL for about the Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicle game and did exactly like that but changed the region and it still showed up with just empty boxes
If you copy a save from your Wii to your SD card...does it show up on your SD card? Basically what I'm asking is if you've ever had a save show up on your Wii when viewing the SD card screen or if it's just this RE4 save.
yes, when i copy from the Wii to my SD card it shows up but the moment i copy a new file into the GAMECODE folder it does not show up when i put it in the Wii.
And when you copy an RE4 save from the Wii to your SD card, it creates an RB4P game code folder, correct?
I would suggest having your Wii create the folders for the game (like above) and then replace the old data.bin with the new WiiSave.com data.bin. Unless you've already tried this.
This is to pretty much eliminate any user error. This is a very odd issue...
Sorry to say this, but i have already tried getting the Wii to create the folders and suchn then just copy the new data.bin file into it but the moment i modify the file (open it to put in a new save) the Wii will no longer show the icon, instead just empty boxes.
Thanks for all ur help
I had a smiler problem well two problems. The first was i named the SD card wii and it was doing the same thing it would copy the save over and when i tried to put one on that download off of wiisave.com it wouldn't show up. For some reason the wii didn't like the name of my SD card. I changed it to Nintendo and now it works fine. The second was doing the same thing again but the problem was the SD card didn't want to put data on my SD card correctly. Kind of like a floppy disk drive if its a little out of whack it wouldn't work on any other drive but work fine on the original drive. The data was put in different sectors of the disk so no other drives could find the data. So i reformat the card and it works. If non of that works try proses of elimination
1: try a different SD card
2: try a different save from your regain
3: try a friends save any save will work
4: try a different SD card reader
if non of that works than it might be the wii it will be the first time i have heard of the wii doing that
Yamada,
Thanks for all ur advice but....
I tried renaming my SD card to 'Nintendo'. Then i tried to reformat, then tried a different SD card, tried another SD card reader.
I think that the problem is the Wii although it is pretty new and not modded.
This is because i went to transfer some of my saves from my Nintendo to the card and all of a sudden it says cannot transfer because the file already exists on it. then i went to the SD tab and blank boxes show.
Then i went to my computer and all it had was my RE4 save that i tried but it never showed up.
Please anyone who is able to give me any help, please, please help me!
I really, really want to have a completed game without having to complete it again seeing as i deleted it thinking the saves would show up and i was up to the boss fight with IT.
Thanks anyway
it still sounds like the SD card needs to be reformatted again. that's the same thing mine was doing it says its full and its not and it didn't read the SD right. did you do a full format or a quick format try a full format i did a fat 16 format and try naming it some thing else like KODAK or NINTENDO in caps
did you try a different save from your regain? it might be the save.
if you did transfer a save from your wii to your SD before than its not the wii.
make sure your game code file is in all caps to. other than that i cant think of any thing else
By reformatted what do you mean. I think that i did reformatt it. When you reformatt the SD card does it delete all of the data?
Yep
That didn't work.
Thanks Kronok and Yamada for all ur help but i think i will try my luck and buy the more expensive Wii brand SD cards.
All the wii brand SD is a regular SD and it cost more. LOT MORE than a regular SD card. the reason it cost more is because Nintendo and sandisk came to a agreement and let sandisk put wii on it. the onle difrents is the tranfer speed might be faster
I use a Lexar or if you wont a cheaper one go for Kingston ( i have a kingston 1Gb micro sd for my phone and wii it uses a adapter for wii) the 2 Gb are a LOT cheaper than sandisk 1 Gb sd card so just because wii is on it doesn't really mean it will work any better.
if you want speed it still is cheaper than the wii sd and its pretty much the same other than price wise look for a 150X or 50X transfer rate
But if you do want a wii brand SD then id get it off the net it might save you some money
i did a google for you. this is what i googled ( SanDisk SD Gaming Memory Card )
that might bring some cheaper price than going to a store.
what i found was a sndisk gaming 1Gb sd at $20 compared to a sandisk wii gaming 1Gb sd at $35
same card different labels and case
I have a Sandisk 1.0 GB mini SD with adaptor
thanks everyone. it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have 2 top quality expensive card readers in my computers and also my phone which can be used as a card reader.
none of the expensive ones work or my phone so today (as i had a little money to spend) i bought a cheap $35 sandisk card reader/drive that is USB connectable to computer (my other ones were built in once i bought them) and hey presto it works.
thanks everyone for all of your help
For all those people out there who are having the same problem that the saves don't work go out and buy a cheap card reader and instead of seeing no boxes under the SD card tab you will see images like on videos and that
well, i don't think its the expensive card readers, i think its the format of the sd card, i would check the card if the worked with the photo channel, if it does, then the card should be fine, otherwise, try to format it (on your computer), then use it on your wii to save a wii save file on the sd card, then you can go into that file and delete the data.bin file for your respected game and replace it with the one you got from wiisave
What i am saying is the following:
It works on every other application, but as soon as i go to the SD tab to transfer the game save it showed up with empty boxes.
USING THE SAME, repeat SAME SD card on a lower quality card reader that is external and not built in. Under the SAME format and everything the SAME, transferred files that i put on my SD card now show up and i am able to transfer them onto the Wii memory.
NOTE #1: IT IS THE SAME SD CARD NOTHING IS CHANGED. NOT THE FORMAT OR ANYTHING
NOTE #2: IF PEOPLE READ THE COMMENTS ABOVE player1 THEY WILL UNDERSTAND THAT A CHEAPER CARD READER THAT IS EXTERNAL WORKS.
The real way is to name your bin file data.bin and put it into the correct folder.
